It's true plug'n'play and the C-Media HS-100B chip it uses is what makes this happen. I've used this on all versions of Windows starting with Win7 and various distributions of Linux such as CentOS and Ubuntu, all of which require no manual installation of drivers of any sort and I was able to use it almost immediately after plugging it into a USB port on a desktop/laptop. ![]() Of course, I use this for listening to music as well. ![]() Apparently this is a common issue for many people which I find surprising in this day and age. ![]() The built-in mic on my laptop/desktop is simply too crappy and nobody can hear me clearly. I bought this primarily for online chat/meeting via google or Skype etc using my headset/earbuds while working remotely without a video conferencing unit.
